Sandy Moise is a compassionate educator and environmental advocate who has dedicated 36 years to empowering others through fostering knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. Sandy has become a prominent voice in environmental advocacy, creating urban habitats that support birds, butterflies, marine life, and other wildlife. Her commitment to conservation is evident in her tireless efforts to protect these vital ecosystems.
She leverages her education and research skills to champion environmental protection and has made significant strides in promoting sustainable practices. Sandy currently serves on the South Florida Outward Bound Board and as the Conservation Co-Chair for the Sierra Club Miami Group Executive Committee. Sandy’s notable achievements include spearheading the adoption of the Leave No Trace policy on city-owned spoil islands in Miami and advocating for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to recognize Mangrove Island in Biscayne Bay as a critical nesting rookery. She is currently leading community-wide advocacy efforts to preserve the city of Miami’s existing Tree Ordinance and Tree Trust Fund to save and expand essential canopy coverage. Sandy’s dedication continues to inspire those around her to take action for a healthier, more sustainable environment.
