Connie Crowther is a veteran journalist, communications strategist, and public relations professional with more than 50 years of experience in journalism, media relations, and strategic communications. A former Miami Herald reporter, she later served as Director of Information Services and the News Bureau at Florida International University, helping shape the university’s public profile during its formative years.
Today, Connie is the founder of Crowther & Company Communications & Consulting, where she provides communications and public relations expertise. She has been deeply involved in Miami’s professional and civic communities, including serving as a past president of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Miami Chapter and as a longtime board member of Sunrise Community.
Connie is also a longtime advocate for Biscayne Bay. As a journalist in the 1970s, her reporting on the deteriorating health of the Bay helped bring public attention to the issue and contributed to the movement that became Friends of Biscayne Bay. She continues to be involved in efforts to protect and preserve Biscayne Bay for future generations.
